• Introducing The EMT Connection Tool

EMTP® Collaborates with RTE to Develop an Advanced Connection Tool

Leveraging the development of the EMT Connection Tool which started with the Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional (Chilean ISO), EMTP® is proud to announce a new collaborative project with Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE), the French transmission system operator. Building on the expertise and the technological advancements from our work in Chile, we aim to create a similar EMT Connection Tool that will serve the needs of the French electric system.

EMT Connection Tool

The EMT Connection Tool is an innovative online interconnection study and analysis tool. It was engineered for reliability and efficiency, significantly improving power plant model validation. This tool seamlessly integrates Generation Owner (GO) and Transmission Owner (TO) models into the protected wide-area EMTP model of the National Electric System of Chile, enabling remote simulations for faster results.

New Collaboration with RTE

Our new partnership with RTE will focus on developing a similar connection tool tailored to the specific needs of the French electric grid. This tool will leverage the technological foundation laid by the EMT Connection Tool while incorporating additional features to meet the unique requirements of RTE.

The EMT Connection Tool will aim to:

  • Enhance the validation process of power plant models in France.
  • Integrate seamlessly with RTE's existing systems.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of all involved models.
  • Provide rapid and reliable results through parallel computing.

With innovative tools and collaborative projects, EMTP® is dedicated to advancing the field of power system modeling and validation with inverter-based resources.
