ZnO Arrester Models

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 15:34

After generating ZnO surge arrester using Zno Data Function we obtain a punch card which we can use for any surge arrester from a particular model and manufacturer for any rated voltage.

What value of Vref do we need to enter in order to scale the data?

For example - I produced a 96kV rated surge arrester .pun card - then wanted to convert it to a 120kV rated equivalent. The Zno Data Functionrecommends we use 2 x Vrated when generating the data - ie 192kV. In the ZnO model for the 120kV rated equivalent should I make Vref = 240kV ?

EMTP and autonomous agents

My question regards what are the possible roads to simulate a system of decentralizzato control of a microgrid based on the autonomous agents, using EMTP.

The control system should be such to allow the tension and frequency control when the microgrid is isolated.

It should furthermore be able to evaluate the amount of electric energy to buy from the net and the amount which must be produced by the sources (and by what sources it must be produced) on the basis of the energy and raw materials market cost, according to cheap optimum criterions.

Thanks

EMTP and JADE

I am a student in electric engineering and I am preparing a thesis in which I try to realize a control system  for a microgrid based on the autonomous agents. To simulate the behaviour of the microgrid I have thought I would use EMTP.

The controller of the microgrid will be a block planned by one java script will recall the JADE platform where the acting evolving roveranno the optimum control action.

Wanted to wonder whether someone has already tried to do something of the kind, and if possible have some advice for the implementation of a system of this type.

Non-Linear Inductance Model Used with BCTRAN

I have a question regarding how to use a non-linear inductance to represent the transformer mag Z when using the BCTRAN model.  The BCTRAN documentation is not very clear on how to treat this situation.  The documentation says that the rated excitation value should be subtracted from the non-linear inductance curve.  I'm not quite sure what the author intended there.  Some clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Modelling custom controls

I would like to know what experiences users have with developing detailed complex control systems. In particular is there a way to initialize the controls blocks other than having to specify an initial condition for each individual block? This quickly becomes impractical as the controls model becomes more comlpex. Thanks.
