The IEC document 60071.4, named
"Insulation Coordination Part 4 - computational guide to insulation co-ordination and modelling of electrical networks", gives guidance on conducting insulation coordination studies. It proposes internationally recognized recommendations for :

  • numerical modelling ;
  • implementation of methods.

It includes examples.

Batch Mode - Output .mda format

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 14:41

Hello everyone,

Using EMTP in a batch mode for several case studies at once, i would like to know if that is also possible to do with the output result file. What i need is a way to get quickly (and automatically) a plot value directly stored in a file or wherever else, because trying to open the .mda file as a text file in order to scan for a particular value doesn't work (i have just read that it is written in a fortran-95 format, and i have no idea the way the binary data is stored - columns of x bytes ?).

All hints are welcome,

How to remove the note at left-down corner in Scopeview?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 11:48

As a student in power engineering, I find EMTP and Scopeview are good tools for simulation. I have a question about Scopview here. When I wanna export waveforms from Scopeview to jpg file, there is always a small note at the left-down corner, which is “EMTP-filename”.

How can I eliminate this note in Scopeview?

cable models

I'm working in a project and I'm presently building a network with medium voltage and low voltage cables in EMTP environment.

I'm experimenting difficulties with the data for these cables and I would like to see an example for three phase medium voltage cable and four wire low voltage cable.

Statcom Model

A masked three-phase three-level Statcom (IGBT) has been developed and will be available very soon to EMTP users. An interesting feature of this model is that simultaneous switching between IGBTs and anti-parallel diodes (modeled as non-linear elements) is obtained without artificial means.

A preliminary version of this model is now available in this website in the user's contributiom/Circuit section.
